This was actually taken several days ago. In all, there are 180 pictures I took with my LX3 (only a third of them being displayed here). I even testing around with my flash gun but turned out that bokeh pictures weren’t that good with the flash. Perhaps I need more practices or there might be settings that I did not know. Like Mio’s photoshoot previously, I was using Aperture Priority mode for this time too (F2.0, ISO 200). I didn’t use RAW by the way since I don’t have Lightroom for easier editing of images. LX3 is using RW2 format for it’s own RAW images that requires either 3rd party image editing software that supports it or it’s own plugins (which the installer doesn’t work on 64bit version of Windows 7 that I am currently using). Anyway, let’s have a look at Alter version of Yui and Mio figya below.

Bokeh-ing Mio
From my last entry about Alter’s Akiyama Mio, I decided to create a photoshoot gallery of the figurine. Being a newfag in photography, I don’t know much about techniques and know-how. Also, I don’t have any DSLR to begin with. I just used my only digital camera, Panasonic Lumix LX3. One of the famous technique in photography is bokeh. It is something like a blur image or out of focus, intentionally. People usually tried to focus on the object that they want while blurring the other parts which are not in the focus. So, I just playing around with the settings and I present you this gallery.
Mior bin Tok Aki Yama
It’s already available for a couple of months I guess but I just got my Alter version of Akiyama Mio last Sunday. Truthfully, it was already there in the hands of the guy who helped me buying. Since he was at Petaling Jaya, it took me awhile to meet him for collecting the figure. Furthermore, I wasn’t that familiar with the place with led to some confusion in finding the place even though with the help of Google Maps on iPhone (GPS wasn’t available due to heavy rain in the afternoon). So, yeah… this is my first Alter product. I opened up the box and I just couldn’t stop smiling. Some of you might saying like, “Oh you moefag!” I am not really denying that if you actually looking at my plushies. Tho, in the world of otaklu, you could say that I am somewhat ‘unfaithful’ for having a lot of waifus.
Armed with my puny Panasonic DMC LX3 (with a cheapass flash gun), I took several shots over the figure, like an amateur.
4th Seiyuu Awards 2010
Two guys went over to Kinokuniya and spent more than RM 600++ to buy magazines and books that were previously ordered from Japan. Pretty funny to say that the amount is equivalent to a month’s pay for general worker at local factories or plantations or something like that and we were actually wasted them up on stuffs like these. Thank God that I got my Isetan card. So we got 5% discount on purchases at there. Some of the books had 20% off (like that Otacool 2 photobook which ultimaweaponx bought for kusakabemisao). Anyway, for my stuffs, one of the magazines is Voice Newtype 36. The 4th Seiyuu Awards 2010.

Realistic Drawing
Looking through images around the net and then stumbled upon some nicely drawn images. Something that are more realistic for anime characters to be drawn in such way. Some are like oil paintings. I do wish if I could draw like these.
- Hatsune Miku has never been this lovely.
- Yaranaika?
To sum up:
Making some room
Practically I got two bedrooms. But both of them are full of stuffs. Well, pretty much one of the rooms is being used by my brother and I. The room where I put my very own desktop computer along with my PS3. The bed is messy with a lot of stuffs on it. Boxes, magazines, mangas, tissue boxes, etc. Eventually, I was using the other room, my own proper room, for sleeping. But like any usual fucking lazy otaku room, it still has a lot of stuffs in it. I do have a plan on cleaning them up but I always have a thought that sooner it will be messy again. Heh, so I arranged up some of the unwanted materials (not entirely mine) in the book shelves to other side of the room while putting my stuffs there.
So, how many doujins did you guys do over that break?
So this guy called deviryuu suddenly bugged me on MSN that I should make a blog post out of K-On!! season 2 first episode fansub. I was like, What? K-On? Well, it’s more like reviewing his sub over that K-On episode. I was wondering why he asked me doing that but upon the torrent download link given to me by him, it looks something fun. Trollsub.
“What the fuck is wrong with you its like you’ve turned into #gg”
Microphone, anyone?
Apparently, the fans and their madness aren’t stalled with the existence of real world guitars and bass. Fans have acknowledged Fender and Les Paul as collectibles. Well, it’s K-On! that brought up thing like these to a new level of otakluism. Of course, previously there were many occasions like this but look at this way; before K-On!, only musicians who like anime and bought instruments they like and for K-On! afterwards, non-musicians bought musical instruments just for collections. For today’s post, if you couldn’t get the expensive guitars, you can get something cheaper…
Yeah, you can get the microphone, right?
Made in the United States of America, it’s priced at USD 159. Certainly, cheaper than any of those guitars and basses, am I right? If you bother to see the specifications, it’s a dynamic type, hypercardioid polar pattern that has a response of 48000 Hz to 19000 Hz with the impedence of 200 ohms and sensitivity at 1k 1.8 mV/Pa. Apart from being used for lead and backing vocals, any other instruments can be used such as sax, brass, guitar, dobro, flute, percussions and drums. Other applications are like live recording, broadcast and even home studio.
But I don’t think those people really bother what’s this mic really do, am I right?
The Japan Gold Disc Award 2010
The Japan Gold Disc Award, launched in 1987, honoring the artists and their works which had made great contribution based on objective criteria with the actual sales in development of the music recording industry every year, is a music award intended to let music fans recognize the achievement. Yeah, that was taken from here actually, haha. So, they have already up to 24th anniversary? Whatever. The awards that they have are as follows; Artist of the Year (local/international), New Artist of the Year (local/international), The Best 5 New Artists (local), The Best 3 New Artists (international), The Best Enka/Kayokyoku Artist, Song of the Year (local/international), The Best 5 Songs (local), Single of the Year (local/international), The Best 5 Singles (local), Album of the Year (local/international), The Best 5 Albums (local), Classic Album of the Year, Jazz Album of the Year, Instrumental Album of the Year, Soundtrack Album of the Year, Animation Album of the Year, Traditional Japanese Album of the Year, Special Product Album of the Year, The Best Music Videos (local/international) and Special Award. Of course that there’s nothing fancy about this award, as much. But interesting to see some stuffs here like this.
The Best 5 New Artists went to Jasmine, supercell, BIGBANG, Hilchryme and Erina Mano. Nice job there supercell. I love your songs :3
K-On! got the Special Award. Interesting. For full list of award recipients, kindly refer to here, the translation version.
Sweet Dreams
Sleep is a natural habit for everyone. Well, it’s not really about a habit but we have to sleep anyway. When we are tired, we need to rest. By resting ourselves, it will regenerate our body especially our mind. Of course with certain incentive, we could stay awake as we might need extra energy to do works or anything that we have to. Uh, gaming all day long without sleeping is not really a good excuse unless if you’re trying to break a world record. Nonetheless, a sleeping person does look peaceful but not necessarily quiet. You see, a noisy people might as well being noisy while they’re sleeping too. Snore, snore and snore. But truly, a sleeping child does look cute or some cute looking girls who also look cute when they’re sleeping…. Ahahaha
