Mio-chan’s House at 1/100 Scale

Sure is cold out there

Sure is cold out there

If someone was cool enough to draw the house plan of Kuroneko house like before, it is not surprising if someone was that willing to build up a scale model of a house of an infamous 2D character such as Akiyama Mio. Like any amazing Japanese otaku, the details on the model is pretty much respectable. Continue reading

K-On!! Live Event ~Come With Me!!~

K-On!! Live Event ~Come With Me!!~

The K-On!! concert has been announced. It will be held at Saitama Super Arena on February 20. Being selected on the World Day of Social Justice, this will bring justice to K-On!! fans as well after the great season of 2010. As much as I want to join this awesome live event, that would be impossible. This is gonna be similar like the previous event.

Freaking Clear Files

What is a ‘Clear File’? Usually I use clear files for sorting out my company’s receipts, invoices, etc. before I arrange them inside a proper and bigger file holders for archiving. By its name, you could already understand that the file is made to be a transparent material. Interestingly in Japan, the files are usually being printed with images and pictures which sometimes no longer transparent anymore. And, yes, they’re printed with anime characters!

K-On!

K-On!

Just recently, or I guess I should say, yesterday, a large volume of K-On! clear files along with other otaku stuffs were sold widely throughout Japan. The clear files were sold out. How the hell that happened? I don’t know. But surely they’re like a freaking hot stuffs to be bought. It’s told that a guy went to the shop, Lawson, to queue up as early as 4 a.m. and a lot of people already there. In just 20 minutes after the shop’s open the door, the clear files were sold out… Continue reading

Amazon.co.jp Trolls

Akiyama Mio what?

Akiyama Mio what?

It’s Seitokai Yakuindomo Soundtrack CD. Shino Ban. Currently being sold on Amazon.co.jp. Since both Shino and Mio are from the same seiyuu of Hikasa Youko, that doesn’t mean that this totally different (and perverted) anime should have Mio name there. Think this as a conspiracy from Amazon Japan to attract K-On! fans to order this non-related anime except the seiyuu. The same thing applied to Aria Ban which also has the same seiyuu as Tainaka Ritsu.

K-On! Live Event ~Let’s Go!~

:P

:P

K-On! Live Event ~Let’s Go!~ was the concert that was held in Yokohama Arena at the end of last year in Japan. A concert dedicated to the fans of K-On! from seiyuu of the characters. Not really sure how many were there during the concert but it is said that the capacity of the arena is 17,000. It’s safe to say that the visitor counts are around that. While I wasn’t there in the concert but I just ordered the Blu-ray copy of it from Amazon Japan :3

I decided to buy this off from the site because it’s Blu-ray, man. Well, what kind of shitty excuse was that? lol. Anyway, this Blu-ray of K-On! has became the best selling music Blu-ray in Japan so far with 22,000 copies sold in a week. I wasn’t included as one of the fags that made the record breaking though because I ordered my copy a bit later. The record even surpassed the previous record of Namie Amuro Blu-ray selling; 14,000 in a week and 21,000 copies altogether from last September. Record doesn’t mean anything much but I can conclude from here that many otaku in Japan do have Blu-ray players such as PS3. An otaku might have a PS3 to play games as well unlike normalfag. So it is normal for anime stuffs to be popular in Blu-ray format.

Facing the Music

Let's sing together!

Let's sing together!

Years of anime existence came along with its musics. Various kinds of song and genre. Recently, when I started to join a band that mostly playing anime songs and also going to Yumekukan karaoke to sing Japanese songs, I kinda realized that how music changes along with the advancement of anime to this day. If anime and manga started to use additional graphical tools such as 3D software, how about musics? My point here is that, it’s not about technological advance though. Well, let us see briefly about earlier anime songs.

Yui and Mio Photoshoot

Yui

Yui

This was actually taken several days ago. In all, there are 180 pictures I took with my LX3 (only a third of them being displayed here). I even testing around with my flash gun but turned out that bokeh pictures weren’t that good with the flash. Perhaps I need more practices or there might be settings that I did not know. Like Mio’s photoshoot previously, I was using Aperture Priority mode for this time too (F2.0, ISO 200). I didn’t use RAW by the way since I don’t have Lightroom for easier editing of images. LX3 is using RW2 format for it’s own RAW images that requires either 3rd party image editing software that supports it or it’s own plugins (which the installer doesn’t work on 64bit version of Windows 7 that I am currently using). Anyway, let’s have a look at Alter version of Yui and Mio figya below.
