It’s the year 2100

In less than 90 years, we will be looking at the future. The future of 22nd century. Well, not really. Since Wikipedia says that 22nd century will only begin at January 1, 2101. However, it’s pretty interesting to predict how the future would be. Well, prediction is not easy considering how volatile the the history is. While I am pretty much influenced by George Friedman’s The Next 100 Years, it’s true that within 20 years of 20th century, a lot of things happened which people who lived in the year 1900 didn’t expect such thing may happen in their future.

Niche Music

Sanya and Eila, really out of character

Sanya and Eila, really out of character

When it’s about time we talk about music, everyone has their own preferences. For me, a person who indulges with a somewhat niche market of music which is anime music, I do find other genres to be lack of interesting. It is the same when other people doesn’t like my choice of music. But to be honest, my interest with anime or Japanese music doesn’t mean I like them totally. Nor do I hating other musics very much. It back to the basic of music itself. But first, let me talk a little bit about music here and there. Continue reading

Total War: Shogun 2

The Collector's Edition

The Collector's Edition

Total War series has always been my favorite games ever since Creative Assembly started off with Shogun: Total War 11 years ago. Shogun, Medieval, Rome, Medieval 2, Empire and Napoleon were the titles that have been used with the series which I got the chance to play them all. Shogun 2 is rather an indirect sequel to the previous one as it’s more like a remake of a used theme over a new game engine. A lot of changes, of course, after a decade of hardware technology where things getting more graphically beautiful and better artificial intelligence (although I know how to exploit AI in defending siege battles). Save that for later. How about we see the images of package that I got.

Why Local Dub Sucks?

Unamused Sakuya is unamused

Unamused Sakuya is unamused

Most people don’t like Japanese anime to be dubbed into different language. To be fair, some of the Japanese don’t like games or animations from other countries to be dubbed in Japanese like that Modern Warfare 2 being localized in Japan. In Malaysia, we are blessed with many animations like 2D cartoons or even 3D to be dubbed in Malay language. This does not applied only to kid shows. Dramas from Japan, Korea, Philippines, Venezuela and other Latin America countries were dubbed into local language. While we still retain some of the shows to be in its original language, it can’t be help when majority of Japanese anime, that being considered as cartoons for kids, to be localized. Japan’s Unity

For Japan

For Japan

Yes, I know that everyone blogs and tweets about it. The earthquake and tsunami in Japan. I bet some of you know the details much much more than me. The Richter scale, the tsunami radius, time line, number of casualties, etc. When I heard about it on Friday through Twitter, I immediately turned on the television and at that time, I wished I had more TVs so that I can watch CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera and Awani at the same time. But news on those channels are not that updated so I opted to live streams of JNN which was available almost instantly on the net. Continue reading

Freaking Clear Files

What is a ‘Clear File’? Usually I use clear files for sorting out my company’s receipts, invoices, etc. before I arrange them inside a proper and bigger file holders for archiving. By its name, you could already understand that the file is made to be a transparent material. Interestingly in Japan, the files are usually being printed with images and pictures which sometimes no longer transparent anymore. And, yes, they’re printed with anime characters!

K-On!

K-On!

Just recently, or I guess I should say, yesterday, a large volume of K-On! clear files along with other otaku stuffs were sold widely throughout Japan. The clear files were sold out. How the hell that happened? I don’t know. But surely they’re like a freaking hot stuffs to be bought. It’s told that a guy went to the shop, Lawson, to queue up as early as 4 a.m. and a lot of people already there. In just 20 minutes after the shop’s open the door, the clear files were sold out… Continue reading

It’s Maid Train

Okaeri nasai, gochujin-chama!

Okaeri nasai, gochujin-chama!

How does it feel when you are greeted ‘Welcome back home, Master!’ whenever you stepped into a train? Well, you can have it in Japan. Some maniacs there just announced that there will be a maid-cafe style service train that span between Ikebukuro and Chichibu stations. Not really sure where the hell is Chichibu station since I never heard of it. A quick look at Google Maps shows me that… Holyfuck! 2 hours worth of journey with the train. Almost 100km long. 2 hours worth of maids, baby (implying you’re from Chichibu all the way to Ikebukuro of course). Seibu Railway Group does know how to treat maniacs like these.

Moe Moe ♥ Ky- ... fuck i hate saying that!

Moe Moe ♥ Ky- ... fuck i hate saying that!

News were taken from Japan Today and pictures from Seibu Railway Group site. Before you trying to think why not we have something like this in Malaysia, apart from some religious zealots going against it, you should be bothered with the government to make the public transportations better than what we have now. Of course that ours are better than that of in Jakarta but be in mind that there are 8 millions of people going in and out everyday at that city.

Disclaimer: I am not really into maids but I don’t mind to have one. Two maybe.
