A nice comfy chat with Ceui and Shimokawa Mikuni

Ceui and Shimokawa Mikuni

Well, not really that comfortable since we didn’t get any kind of refreshments, at least a cup of coffee (I don’t mind sharing with them), from the organizers of Comic Fiesta so that we might have longer time of conversation with these two singers from Japan. Ceui (pronounced ‘say-ee’) and Shimokawa Mikuni (pronounced … ah never mind) are amazing artists who made appearance in this year’s Comic Fiesta in Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. Having their first time in Malaysia, it’s surely a rather new experience for them. We at Anime Shrine were glad to be given some room to meet them in-person just after their stage performance. Comic Fiesta 2011 : Ever After

Comic Fiesta 2011

Comic Fiesta 2011

17th and 18th December. It’s that time again as the prestigious yearly event of Comic Fiesta being held. This time, Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. A better place for all as it’s the biggest place than all previous venues in previous years. Compared to the last year’s event that being held at the Ballroom in Berjaya Times Square Hotel, the Hall 5 of the convention center is slightly bigger by 50 percent. Plus, it’s a perfect place for a large gathering of people since, well, it’s KLCC. Apart from the meaning of it being the convention center, it’s also meant for KL City Center which is just a few meters away from the tallest twin towers in the world. Yeah, better transportation like trains and also a lot of parking areas. Continue reading

Comic Fiesta 2010

Comic Fiesta, a yearly end of the year event, was held at Berjaya Times Square Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on 18th and 19th December. Saturday and Sunday. The new venue is quite smaller than in Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre last year. Being told that the attendees were around 11,000 and it was more than previous ones, the place was surely cramped like hell. Few might have never thought that the event that actually focuses more on comic industry in the country has currently became a large convention of cosplaying people along with doujin works that being sold instead of original products by local artists. iPhone 3GS and other stuffs

Aifon Tri-gee-ass

Aifon Tri-gee-ass

Finally, I am getting this baby. Honestly speaking, it’s for my company of course. I ordered the phone like 2 weeks ago, sharp. Yeah, it was on my birthday which I ordered it. The guy said something like I might be getting it about two to four weeks. I got an SMS earlier in the afternoon about this thing and immediately rushed to Berjaya Times Square to pick it up. Oh, I made my order there because I was lurking around Lowyat Plaza at that time to find some Macbooks. So, yeah, around 3 PM I drove from Bangi to BTS with my friend, Amin. As we arrived at the Maxis Center there, I saw something funny which was the ‘System Offline’ notice on their desks. The grandeur service provider in Malaysia was having problem with their connection, for all over places, as the dude there said. We had to wait. While waiting, I went to Borders to look around at thoseĀ mango (which eventually I bought some later). Initially, that guy said something like we might come back there around an hour later or so. But after wasting some 20 minutes at Borders, we went back to the that Maxis outlet. Still, System Offline da yo. But not long after that, that guy at the counter called me (if I am not mistaken, his name was Ahmad Hashir or something like that). He said, he can process my iPhone 3GS now. Well, it did took sometime and finally I have iPhone 3GS. At the same time, I guess that their system didn’t ‘offline’ but simply they have slow connection or some similar technical issues because I saw some of the guys could operate the stuffs albeit slow.
