It’s the year 2100

In less than 90 years, we will be looking at the future. The future of 22nd century. Well, not really. Since Wikipedia says that 22nd century will only begin at January 1, 2101. However, it’s pretty interesting to predict how the future would be. Well, prediction is not easy considering how volatile the the history is. While I am pretty much influenced by George Friedman’s The Next 100 Years, it’s true that within 20 years of 20th century, a lot of things happened which people who lived in the year 1900 didn’t expect such thing may happen in their future.

Malaysian Cosplay

As we all know, cosplay is from “costume play” which means, well, I think you get the idea. My experiences with the local cosplayers might be not that much. Simply, this is just a random review on the current kids trend, a niche trend, and yet still growing.

Annie, my first ever cosplayer who I got to know along with Momo

Annie, my first ever cosplayer who I got to know along with Momo

I am not really sure when the fandom of cosplaying in Malaysia started. If not because of Gempak magazine more than a decade ago, I wouldn’t know much about it. Wait, I think I knew about cosplay through the Internet anyway, long time before that. For sure, it gave little internet to me back then. Because I am a picky guy who was not interested with the combination of 2D and 3D.  Continue reading

World of Me

Before I proceed to my rants, I would like to say something about my last post on journey to Sabah. Some friends have been asking me if I really did left Azunyan in Sabah. Well, yes, she is currently with my sister, Irene, there. Of course that this is not about real, blood-related sister. Actually, I’ve been giving some other plushies to my other sisters. I gave a plushie of Tachibana Kanade (Angel Beats!) to Arisa and Kuroneko (OreImo) to Pammy. Nothing biggie and one might be wondering why I am so generous on giving such things to them.

Teh O Ais Limau satu!

Teh O Ais Limau satu!

Recently, the parents have been mumbling about Malaysian kids getting fat or, in cool modern word, obesity. People start pointing fingers at each other and, as usual, the government will be blamed in the end. So as a drastic measure, government have called for experts at Ministry of Health to investigate the causes and how to eliminate or, at least, prevent more cases like this. Favorite people’s foods are taken into the brawl of who the fuck give them fat the most. Nasi Lemak, Hamburger, Sausages, Fried Noodles Fried Chickens, Canned Drinks and many more. As a result, canteens, cafeterias, nearby school eateries and food vendors were being pressured. They’re complaining too since some of them only selling Nasi Lemak, for instance, where their selling would be limited only two days per week. Discussions and arguments still go on. In the mean time, how about we go back to our childhood days? *flashback* Continue reading

Laugh

Ha!

Ha!

Over the years, lol has been widely used as one of the Internet slangs out there. A very popular one even. When I encountered the word for the first time in 90s, I thought it was meant for lots of laugh instead of laugh out loud. Eventually, the word (or should I say slang?) evolved to several other forms. I guess you know about that better but here I just want to share my habits of using this slang. Continue reading

Three Kingdoms

Zhuge Liang, Three Kingdoms (2010)

Romance of the Three Kingdoms, a very popular ancient Chinese literature that pretty much being the most famous among the Four Great Classical Novels. Many of you might be knowing about this better than be but maybe some of you don’t know anything about it. For some reason, Three Kingdoms is very popular subject as references in various forms. Be it television drama, movies, comics and even games. I am not really sure why I was attracted to this series so much. It made me wonder until now. Continue reading

Thou Enraged?

Actually I wanted to write stuff about something else but some shits happened several hours ago that made me feel funny. Well, I am a bit sarcastic although sometimes can be easily trolled but this is literally funny. As you know, I love to create artworks by copying from original source and then I added some pepper and salt to make it more delicious. The artworks I am talking about is the Moeslim images that I took some liberty to add head veils over my favorite anime characters. Apparently some people don’t like it. They hate it and loathe it until they want to throw a molotov cocktail into a mosque. It’s suggestive but still a threat. (a link to image capture here in case you couldn’t see the Facebook links above)

Haters gonna hate

Haters gonna hate

So, my artworks fuel terrorism act among non-Muslims in Malaysia? From my side, a lot of people praising me for doing such Islamic artworks despite not really original. Pretty much I saw some people using my stuffs on Facebook especially those greeting card images I created. I do received negative response from some Muslims because they prefer to separate the non-Islamic materials into Islamic matters, in this case Japan. Especially when Japan anime and manga stuffs are prone to turn into sensual stuffs. But this is the first ever enraging and full of hate comments I’ve ever saw. You know what? You just gave me ideas and passions to create more stuffs like these. Especially your Shana and Saber.

Oh, if you ever watched Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai, just imagine the early part from the first episode that Kirino actually waking up her brother, Kyousuke, for Subuh prayer. I might turn that into a parody Islamic comic if I got the mood to do it. Or any of you can make it since I just give you an idea.

Improving Society

People and manners

People and manners

As a Malaysian, I always see local people doing something uncivilized. Not really that bad until like riding a shopping cart while gunning people down with AK47s African-style. Was that racist? Never mind. But Malaysian society is something not that different with other developing or advanced countries. Do I mean they’re mostly uncivilized in the civilized nations? Freedom of thoughts and acts for some people sometimes look weird to some others. This is what I called as uncivilized. In my own definition. Continue reading

Teaching: Now and Then

A normal classroom

A normal classroom

Teaching. A very well recognized profession that has been existed from the beginning of human history. In Islam, one must teach the other persons everything that he/she knows and hiding knowledge is considered as sinful. But of course, everyone is reluctant to let the others know about the best knowledge that they kept for themselves. I am writing this just for sharing some thoughts about teaching throughout my experiences and observations. Continue reading
