Latest Affection: Yuruyuri & Joshiraku

It’s been a little while since I got caught with this funny feeling of getting affected with moe things. That’s it, anime things. For the current season, there are two anime that I followed dearly. Make it three. Hmm, maybe four. What the heck is wrong with me? But for some cutesy stuffs, I’ve been watching Yuruyuri (season 2) and Joshiraku. The other two that I seldom missed their airings are Kokoro Connect and Hyouka.

For a start, lemme talk about Yuruyuri. Isn’t it funny for me to watch Yuruyuri? After giving some thoughts, I started to understand why. Well, practically some douche bags like my friends were watching this filthy lesbian anime because, well, they’re douche bags. If it’s me, it’s all because of seiyuu idols.

The first name that caught my attention was Mimori Suzuko. I never liked her Tantei Opera Milky Holmes. Heck, her other seiyuu works like Queen’s Blade, Mouretsu Pirates, Cardfight!! Vanguard and even Rinne no Lagrange are not my cup of tea. It’s safe to say that I like her because of her being an idol.

Toyosaki Aki

The other name that make me interested with this series was Toyosaki Aki. I like Chitose in Yuruyuri too. Her voice reminds me back Yui of K-On! But both Aki-chan and Mimorin were not the main four protagonists of the anime although they clearly are important characters as I found out later. Also, there’s Fujita Saki in it (if any Vocaloid fan did not know her, I would like to punch their face). Taketatsu Ayana was in there as well but just a minor role being the Magical Girl Mirakurun and not forgetting Katou Emiri as Sakurako. Since I never watched any anime that has Mimorin previously, so I give it a chance for Yuruyuri.

Otsubo Yuka

Otsubo Yuka

Before I started with season 2, I watched the previous season first. Just from the first episode, Toshinou Kyouko is my favorite character. I really love to see her jumping around like a little kid. It made me double-checked the seiyuu list and I just realized a familiar name. Otsubo Yuka. Why? Because I updated a little bit of her bio at Anime News Network from some data I read from various Japanese seiyuu blogs and Wiki. Apparently, she just barely 18 years old which made her able to be featured in some magazines since it’s kind of a rule where minors in Japan (under 18) are not allowed this and that unless they got parental permission, etc. Not that much of her to show anyway other than her rabbit-like teeth.

Though, by watching Yuruyuri Nanamori Recital Live Event, I found out why some blogs kinda featuring this particular seiyuu idol much. Funami Yui’s seiyuu which is Tsuda Minami. She’s certainly appeared gorgeously in the concert. I like her smile a lot (I wonder how many times I have been saying the same thing with various seiyuu idols lol). Funami Yui is one of a few characters that she got as main character. If only there were more pictures of her, I would gladly make a gallery out of it ♥

So, what’s the meaning behind me watching this filthy lesbian anime series apart from seiyuu idols? Actually it reminds me a lot of K-On! series. Albeit not the theme but more towards the feeling of watching girls doing fun things. Since “fun things are fun,” like what Hirasawa Yui said. Really, the atmosphere is pretty much similar. School girls, no boys, everyday life ranging from doing homework ’til having fun with day out with additional lesbian filth. What’s more? Even the live event concert was pretty much like K-On! first live event where the newbie seiyuu girls got their concert debut for an anime like this and it’s quite interesting to see that everyone in the concert was pettanko, hehe. Hmm, while Kyouko can be a very random girl doing random things, the series is pretty much normal unlike…

… Joshiraku. Words can’t describe what Joshiraku is all about. It’s enough to say that Kukuru is the best girl. But Marii is not bad too. Well, I like everyone. Joshiraku is pretty much a collection of rakugo girls doing random things. While sometimes can be related to their rakugo stuffs, they can do silly discussions like spectacles getting foggy and nipples.

Kukuru’s seiyuu, Goto Saori, has a lovely voice. I don’t remember much about her other works other than as Barasuishou in Rozen Maiden. A little peek at her bio reveals that she’s a role in Yuruyuri too as that silent School Council President. Though the most interesting seiyuu for Joshiraku to me is Marii’s seiyuu, Sakura Ayane.

Yeah, on the right

Yeah, on the right

Ayane is pretty much new to this voice casting job too. I only got to know her previously as Merry Nightmare. S’more she is a year younger than Otsubo Yuka. Barely 18 years old a few months ago. But…

Oh, perhaps you’re wondering about my last post about Lost, aren’t you? If you think it’s kinda contradicting with what I said in this post, it’s pretty much about how I won’t be bother on collecting stuffs, whatever. Just simply downloading stuffs that I may like. Because there’s very few stuffs that I like. Almost to none. It’s pretty amazing to have me following 3-4 series this season.
