On Liberty

My Grand Theft Auto IV copies just arrived. It seems that the holidays made them arrived at my doorstep abit late. I was thinking it got back-ordered due to many people are getting. Despite that, the game is widely known for bugginess. Well, it’s due to bad porting from console to PC. Then again, I can wait for patches that will be released to fix the bugs. Hope it won’t be that long to wait.

3 copies and the other 2 are for my friends :3

Anyway, below this is a rage and emo shit rant upon my graphic card which I posted at LowYat.NET:

Ok guys. I’ve getting a problem booting my pc up and I was unsure what the hell has happened with my pc. If the pc was able to boot up, it won’t have a problem if I choose to ‘Restart’ from Windows. But if I choose to ‘Turn Off’ (it a sense that there’s lightning out there which won’t make my pc safe or other things like changing peripherals), it won’t boot up again until some time miraculously it will able to boot up. The symptom is that the pc is able to boot up but won’t get past BIOS as the BIOS won’t show up at all and also the processor fan will be running at full speed plus no beeping at all. I’ve tried removing things like RAMs, detached any HDDs and other things just to make my mobo run. The results remained the same.

Last week, I just bought new mobo which is Asus P5Q as I thought the mobo died or nearly end of life. For a few days, the pc ran perfectly and I also getting higher benchmark compared to my old AM2 mobo. But recently, the weather weren’t that good and I did turn off my pc because of lightning. Again, the omgwtfbbq thing happened. Today I had tried several things and I just found out that the culprit is that Gainward HD4850GS graphic card. When I detached the power cord attached to the graphic card, the mobo boot up fine and finally I heard that beeping sound.

At the moment, I’ve less faith with Gainward because, first, I got that first batch with black screens and I thought it was my PSU which had less power. So I replaced my PSU but the black screens remained. Immediately after that I replaced the card after the distro asked for 1-to-1 exchange. Second, after several months, this thing happened to my pc and I even bought new mobo on new platform. I am not amused with what has happened but then, this might be somewhat emotional thing I’ve written. Seriously, Strider ST50F was not cheap. Same with Asus P5Q along with Intel processor.

I will return this card to be RMA soon but in the same time I will find another graphic card other than Gainward. The RMAed card will be put on Garage Sales.

Regards.

Currently I am able to boot up the PC because of I playing around with the connector on the graphic card like detaching it off and letting it cool down. For some reason I can turn it on. But during POST test, the culprit was that graphic card. Now I am thinking of getting a new one. Zzzzz
